Life Happens

Life Happens – October

Sometimes our life gets so busy that most days just fly by without us giving them a second thought.  Therefore, ‘Life Happens’ is an occasional recap on what has happened in our neck of the woods during the past month or so…

Besides the obvious that we were in England during the first 2 weeks of the month,

Michigan State Football
We came home from our epic trip and was looking forward to settling into another exciting football season.  Unfortunately, it was instead like crashing down from the vacation high into a sea of misery that is the abysmal season our beloved football team is having this year.  Fall was supposed to be one of our favorite seasons because of all the football games.  Now every Saturday is more like a torturous nightmare that just won’t end.  With a 0-5 record in the conference currently and no end in sight…wahhhh!  😱  When does basketball season start again?

Since I did not grow up here in the US, I personally am not really that into the festivity of Halloween.  The kids on the other hand, Halloween is about one of their favorite days.  And from a kid’s perspective, what’s not to like?  You get to dress up as whoever you choose to be, the class parties, trick or treating with your friends and then come home with the loot of candies that last you for the next 5 years.  Man, all those candies…which typically would mysterious dwindle as the weeks go on and somehow end up either in the garbage can or being donated.  😜

My bummed ankle from the untimely sprain 3 weeks ago has prevented me from getting back to boxing.  I had put my gym membership on a 2-month hold back in middle of August, what with all the trips occurring in the past two months.  My plan was to return right after we came back from England.  Instead, I have now taken almost 3 months hiatus and have been feeling really out of shape.  I hope to give it a try this Saturday and see how I feel.  But most likely I will have to build up the endurance from scratch again.  Ugh, why is working out always so hard for me to stay with it??!!
